You’ll never have to guess what the pet eats.
The hardest part of this job isn’t the walking. It’s arriving at a stranger’s door with a two-line text message and a dog you know nothing about. On Animalty the care plan arrives filled in — feeding, medication, walk times, stop words, the emergency vet — and the owner confirms it before the booking starts.
Written, not remembered
Dose and timing in text. If something goes wrong, there’s a record of what you were asked to do.
Vaccinations checked
Verified before the booking. You’re not the one asking for paperwork.
Expectations agreed upfront
Fewer arguments about what was included, because it was written down.
One app for both sides of the job.
Requests & calendar
Accept or decline in a tap, and see the week ahead.
Chat with the owner
Inside the booking, with the care plan attached.
Check-in and check-out
Photos and notes — proof the job was done.

What you need before you apply
18 or older · government ID and a verified phone · a background check you pass · two contactable references · a profile with a photo, a short video and honest availability. For boarding and day care you also need a pet-safe home and written permission from your landlord or building.
Questions people ask before applying for pet sitting jobs.
How do I become a dog sitter or cat sitter?
Apply in about ten minutes with your ID and a verified phone, then pass verification in two to three days. Build your profile, pick dog sitting, dog walking or cat sitting, and set your prices. Most caregivers get their first booking within two weeks.
How much is the commission?
One percentage of the booking total, shown to you before you accept every single request. It is the same for every caregiver in your city, and we never change it retroactively on a booking you have already taken.
Do I need my own home for boarding?
You don’t have to own it. A rented home works too, as long as it is pet-safe and you have written permission from your landlord or building. Walks, drop-ins and house sitting need no space of your own at all.
What if a pet gets sick or injured while I’m caring for it?
The care plan lists the emergency vet, and the support line is reachable around the clock from inside the booking. If a pet is injured while in your care, the vet bills are covered — you’re not paying out of pocket.
Can I decline a booking? Does it hurt my ranking?
Yes, and without penalty: you only take the requests you want. Only repeated last-minute cancellations of bookings you have already accepted affect your ranking.
Do I have to be home all day for day care?
Day care means the pet spends the working day at your place, so it suits people who are home anyway. If you’re out most of the day, walks and drop-ins fit better — they take 30–60 minutes.
Can I do this alongside a full-time job?
Yes. Dog walker jobs and drop-in visits take 30–60 minutes and usually run on a repeating schedule. You block the dates you can’t do, set daily limits, and take only the requests that fit.
What about taxes?
You’re self-employed, so filing and paying taxes is on you. Once a year we give you an earnings summary to make that easier.
Can I care for pets if I have my own?
Yes. Say so in your profile, so owners know who their pet will share the space with, and choose who you take: dogs only, cats only, no puppies or no large breeds.
Your first booking could be next week.
Applying takes about ten minutes and verification is two to three days. After that, pet sitter jobs come to you: your calendar, your prices, and only the requests you choose to take.
